Timothy Grundvig Yes, actually true! There are some so socially awkward that you may get the impression af a lie, even though they're speaking the truth. I've conducted thousands of interviews professionally and come across a few, but very few. They could be placed in two groups. 1. Well functioning schizophrenics with poor ability to handle emotional ex- and impressions. They can recount a dramatic event so flatly and seemingly unengaged, that you doubt the event ever happened. This may even be enhanced by the fact that they often retell the event exactly the same way if asked to repeat the story, making it sound rehearsed. 2. Victims of abuse and social isolation in the early, formative years. Their recounts may also seem strangely flat, unengaged an oversimplified. Both groups are used to not be believed, but if you remain neutral during the interview, they usually reveal something that indicates they really are telling the truth.
