  1. Trout’s poor footwork is the reason his hooks have no power. Look how he lays down the instep of his back foot, trying to create enough traction that he don’t rotate in the opposite direction when he swings a right. A left hook is out of the question except in close quarters. This makes his repertoire of effective punches very limited.
