Well, I'm no Trumpster, but had the presence of mind and power of judgement to predict him elected over a year before election, and I don't think the analysis needs be very complex. His supporters sees him as anti-establishment. They were increasingly feed up with all aspects of the establishment since the "financial crisis" and the mainstream media attempting to sanction the political evasion of real and primary responsibility for it.
How can politicians who claim the crisis was unforeseen - came out of the blue, really - and lack the guts and dignity to own and analyze their own failed leadership, be trusted to remedy the precipitating factors?
The "raw passion in the defence of the orange man child" is part identification on the Trumpster's part, part projection in part of his opponents, I believe.
Isn't it true that both the right and left wing population have built up increased distrust, frustration, rage, disgust and even contemp for politics and legacy media in general since the great fraud of 2001 and all the wars keeping terrorism active and surveillance rampant since?
I came here from the other side where the failure to understand why anyone could want Hillary elected is just as pronounced as the disbelief of Trump being president elect is here. The labels and arguments are the same. Only their targets differ.
But there is a pronounced difference in the basic approach that has me leaning away from the habits of the establishment as well: The liberals believe more or less completely in rationalism. Their emotions are attached to and channeled by ideologies which tends to depersonalize them and leave the rationalist emotionally inexperienced, immature even, whereas the republicans own their emotions and apply them to matters at hand, which is probably a strong survival trait!
I see Trump as a symptomatic vessel for necessary changes, perhaps not the remedy, but probably much sounder than Hillary who frankly doesn't look so fine behind the facade now that the lamestreams start to slowly correct their enormous bias.
And really folks, how dumb can Trump be if he could run against the sure thing under heavy flack from biased media and without the billons Hillary did spend and could take from "her" Foundation? I mean really? Come on!
