  1. Portugal isn't the only nation of slow, complicated and frustrating. Here in Germany, even German Citizens are sick and tired of the over-complicated bureaucratic system that won't even allow email correspondence which could speed up the process 10 fold. No such thing as emailing or faxing documents and getting an appointment is contingent on the workload of a specific organization's operating hours. For example, if you need to go to a jobcenter their hours are from 8-11 Mon-Wed-Fri, Thurs from 8-4. You must have an appointment. When asked why these short hours, it's for the organization to "catch up" with the workload, despite the fact, they are never on time or process your documentation in a timely manner - go figure. In Germany, if an organization makes a mistake on your paperwork - it is YOU that has to fix it and resubmit - yes you. 40% of your pay is taxes to maintain an autobahn that is under constant construction/bottlenecks, because no one had the foresight to make all of them 8 lines (4 in each direction) or trains that for whatever reason are no longer timely, strike every other week or get cancelled altogether. Airports: Germany's top 10 largest cities should have airports that can handle international flights. Both Frankfurt and Munich are swamped and overburdened while Berlin is the only international airport for all of eastern Germany - since what 1945? Where do all of our taxes go? Trust me when I tell you Roman, the entire European continent's nations are all jacked-up when it comes to bureacracy which I am now fully convinced is there to stymie all controls, delay things as long as possible and pretend to work for the people which none of them do. Progression means job losses for many "civil servants" who aren't overworked by any means.
