  1. @ what obligations? Europe has been sucking on the U.S. teat since 1945 - had it not been for the US, mainland Europe would be speaking fluent Russian now! The US had to get involved in Europe‘s stupid affairs twice, fed Western Europe through the Marshall Plan, created and financed NATO to this present date and had to militarily handle the Balkan Conflict on its own dime. European nations have not funded their own military and security as it was too easy to rely on good ol’ Uncle Sugar to do it for them. Reliable ally?? How much more reliability does Europe want? Why hasn’t Europe solved the Ukraine Russia conflict on their own - it’s been since 2014 since the conflict started - 11 damn years and what has Europe achieved on its own? Zero! A measly 2% Germany spends on defense is a laugh as the World’s 4th largest GDP; most European nations spend less than that! Let’s close the US bases in Europe!!! German cities like Ansbach, Grafenwoehr, Kaiserslautern, Wiesbaden and Baumholder would feel the economic crunch immediately! Why didn’t these cities diversify their economic avenues since 1945? Oh yes, that’s right! It was much easier to rely on the unreliable USA to keep their economies going all these years. Let’s ask all those local nationals who are employed by the unreliable US bases to see what they think about losing those Cush nicely paid jobs that pay more than their counterparts outside the gates who work twice as hard with less? Isn’t it the unreliable US that is still paying for the training of European militaries? Research that one! How about all those local national landlords that live off US persons renting their homes for double the rent charged?? These persons would disagree with you regarding the unreliable US - most drive BMWs and Mercedes - take the hint. Exactly where has the US been u reliable regarding the Ukraine again? I recall Ukrainian President Zelensky clearly stating that without the US support, Ukraine will lose the war -doesn’t sound like the US hasn’t been unreliable for the last 11 years according g to Zelensky. A bigger question for you is how reliable has Europe been for the Ukraine? Let’s ask Zelensky shall we? Ask yourself: what does the US have to do with the Ukraine? Nothing, YET, since the start of the conflict, ths “unreliable” US has supported both Ukrainian and European efforts to defend it by military aid, finance, and economical means - in fact, the “unreliable” US has paid the most by FAR! I’m a Cold War child and remember well when Europe was divided - you, most likely, weren’t even born based on your comment. Suggest you research heavily in this topic before making further uneducated comments
