@wilhelmvanbabbenburg8443 very very true - the arrogance level in Germany is beyond belief. I actually had a German friend tell me that my shoes didn't look good with the pants I was wearing. So I told him that he needs to get his one tooth aligned, lose about 3 kilos, stop wearing high-water jeans and his buddy-holly haircut was out of date - he got offended, but felt perfectly fit to initally offend me. Their arrogance is unbelievable and they guise it by claiming to be honest and fortright - yet the same doesn't apply when it's being done to them.

@baardagaam No, they are slowly grinding down to a complete halt by not adapting to the global employment changes that keeps a nation afloat -- why is it that most Germans who possess Masters or Phds in medicine, engineering or social sciences are leaving to overseas locations or elsewhere in Europe? It's because the German employment system, like much of all their systems is rigid, complicated, redundant and most of all not flexible - they have no one to blame but themselves for employment shortages. I work in HR here in Germany and I can tell you horror stories about hiring practices that are illegal, yet still being carried out and such as racial profiling, unbelievable Nepotism and purposely disregarding university accreditation from certain nations regardless of profile - think about the nations that I might be referring to. Keep in mind that Germany was prosperous after the war due to immigrants working jobs that the Germans themselves, didn't want to do and that is continuing to this day EXCEPT that your average immigrant is now as educated as most Germans and doesn't see it fit to work menial jobs when they too, have degrees. "He/she who lags behind change, loses."

oh no, that glass ceiling is alive and well in Germany as well. For example, the German Government discourages resumes with a picture of the applicant - however, most German companies want a picture with your resume - wonder why? I work in HR and can tell you the number of overqualified applicants turned down, because they don't "fit" the team which is supposed to based on academic qualifications. Just last week, an Astro Physicist with two PhDs was not hired; another candidate with a bachelors was hired as he "looked" acceptable and we all know what I really mean. I will be glad to return to the UK where it's difficult at the moment, but HR has a harder time screwing you due to UK Laws which make it easier for the victim to file - in Germany, forget it. @BassForever44

Germany is 18% foreign by population stats. Also, it's still harder for immigrants as Germany ensures major positions of authority remain "German." @bigQraz
