  1. I'd imagine that most of the job is actually trying to get anything at all done. Between fighting different interests, dealing with disinterested or incompetent bureaucrats, managing personalities, watching excessive input contort a project until it is unrecognizable, or seeing a project implemented poorly or under resourced to the degree that failure its inevitable, the day to day is unlikely to resemble your impression of the work. That said, there are probably greater opportunities in emerging economies.
