  2. This is the language of genocide. Complete erasure. She won't say the name Palestine because she was raised not to. Israel was established on the back of the lie of "a land with no people, for a people with no land." Early Zionists covered their ethnic cleansing by insisting "There's no such thing as a Palestinian." (PM Golda Meir). From the 1960s through to the 1980s the Palestinian's biggest victory (and Israel's biggest defeat) was the exposure of this lie. The international community (with the exception of Israel) now generally recognize the existence of a Palestine prior to Israeli colonization. However, Gal Gadot is a product of the generation that peddled this lie in order to cover up an attempted genocide. Old habits die hard. Even in attempting to craft the most generic boilerplate expression of support for Israel she must conceal the recognition of a Palestinian people within the bizarre phrase "neighbors". "Neighbors" is bizarre because it sounds more like it refers to Jordan and Lebanon, rather than to an ethnic group that lives in Israel.
