I saw odd 'home videos' of ANS coaching her dying husband to say how he's leaving her money, etc. Honestly, I thought those were bizarre (and kind of odd) recordings. So I kind of don't buy that she was in it totally for love/joyful companionship. Although I don't blame her because the guy married her for a reason. I believe it was a mutual transaction between two consenting parties. She wanted to be taken care of (understandably enough, she's a single mother and despite her fame, it was tough making it--because even her glitzy contracts didn't last her long money wise). And he wants a gorgeous, fun lady to be his companionship. I think she made him laugh so he really did like her.

I totally 'get it.' She's a 'newcomer' to the 'family.' They definitely didn't like the idea of her. And while J.H.Marshall made it a successful business, his children (who are all much older than Anna too) have been running/working for the family's business. They worked for that money. So they probably thought, Anna was just a lady who only 'seduced' this possibly senile-old man, in the last few years of his life for some piece of the inheritance therefore she didn't deserve a penny. Although I thought that they should've settled with her, honestly. Since the battle of the courts continued on although they're all dead now. Last I heard they threw out Smith's case in 2017, Idk what's going on now. There are many cases pending still because I believe the lawyers will keep on arguing their cases (From both sides).

The son is dead, btw. I don't think she adored him. I believed she thought she would be taken care of financially so she accepted the proposal. The bride and groom actually lived separately. She in CA, while he's in TX. They only visited a few times during their 14 months marriage. Also, the first son (Pierce) was not the only person suing the estate, one of Marshall's son (the third one) was disowned, and like Anna, he claimed his dad has given a verbal promise for inheritance (Anna's case was stronger because she did tape a bunch of home recordings of her telling Howard to tell the camera how he's going to give his money after he passed away--so at least, there are video proof on Anna's side).
