  1.  @BeachBushandBeyond  They have been giving $$ and it's bleeding the other countries dry monetarily...well bleeding their taxpayers dry and war gets unpopular after awhile so the longer it took, the more people got tired and wanted the countries to get on the table and strike a peace deal/cease fire or whatever. Getting the mineral rights deal may help alleviate the $ pain, I suppose and give the countries who invest .... more interest in assisting against future attack.

  2. I don't think Trump cares much about Zelensky's wellbeing. I'm not a fan of Trump but he did run on the promise of making 'America first' or whatever. He's also mostly a businessman, so he has a very different approach and outlook to politics... I learned that the US is in a hole for 36 trillion dollar, and to be spending hundreds of billions on another country without any vested interest (i.e, mineral deal) seems to be very foolish monetarily for a business guy like Trump.
