  2. Um. Joe Rogan was not a Republican. He endorsed Bernie Sanders. Kamala also chose to not come to his Texas residence/studio, they wanted him to go to her for only an hour of interview. And he didn't want that. For me that 3 hours of Trump interview, just sitting down yakking to each other worked very well. I realized that he was not that hateful as I used to think him to be. I ended up thinking the guy is likable and funny. He also helped clarify misconceptions of things said about him. So that podcast really worked.

  5. I dated a Japanese man before in college, freshman year, he's an exchange student. And yeah, when we started dating (he asked me out), I probably was thin in his eyes, but I was onset on getting my freshman 10 (due to poor food management on my behalf). So on our dinner date, he'd say things like: "Hey, if you eat too much, you can gain a lot of weight." LOL. And if there's another Asian women who are thinner than myself nearby us he'd openly stare at them (this was on our date too) and would say things like, that's how a girl should look like. Obviously, we didn't date long. I lost my freshman weight obviously but def. not because of him.

When I watched that bodycam from Utah LE when Melani Palowski was trying to gaslight the Utah LE to trespass into Brandon's parents' house in the evening, her uncle: Alex Cox (the same guy who attempted to murder Brandon only days earlier) actually was lying in wait in his car only a few blocks away. I kept wondering why would he park quite a ways away from the house Melani tried to trespass into, what's going on here....I have a bad feeling if Utah LE didn't arrest Melani that evening for trespassing and DV, both Alex and Melani would have done something to harm Brandon's parents...thankfully, she was arrested so Alex's focus turned to bailing her out as soon as he could (from what I saw in the body came video anyway).

The tragedy that could've been prevented if the single mother of 3 young children would adhere to common sense (instead of 'love' or romantic notion) and not marry a child rapist (Turned murderer). Idk what's going on, did he not have to report to a parole officer, and how can a rapist (of a young victim) be allowed to be living in the same house with children who were about the same age of his victim.... When I first watched the documentary, I thought to myself, this is not manslaughter...it sounds like first degree murder to me. But since the victim's husband is not a likable character (he started dating his wife's sister so immediately after, there was that assumption he's been having an affair with her) and Adam definitely does not win Mr Congeniality contest (the Hulu show actually provides his voice messages berating Kaitlyn) and his bad relationship with Mary, people tend to want to blame those two...rather than...Lil' Miss Innocent. The trial focused mostly on how horrible these two men were, instead of the evidence, her lawyer did a great job, imo pushing the narrative since both Bill Yoder and Adam Yoder were unlikable characters.

While I was very encouraged to pursue my education because as Qui said, a woman with education is almost as good as a boy- I also was pressured heavily by my parents to get married and settle down. I was even engaged to a man I was incompatible with (he def. didn't treat me right) for almost 5 years but finally I found the strength to break it off and stay true to myself. I'm a happily married woman now, but I remember the pressure very well when I was in my 20s and all the name callings (and believe me when I say, they didn't think it was wrong to name call me every name in the book as a way to pressure me to get married and settle down--they thought what they're doing was the right thing). Yeah, it was horrible. I'm just glad she remains happy and single and thriving (if you check her twitter, this short movie was shot 5 yrs ago, she's in Germany now).

I mean when my husband was really sick, it's really hard to get any doctor to listen to him and his symptoms. We're accused of doctor shopping at one point too, but what can we do if no one listened to us and try to find out what's wrong? We did luck out in the end after 4 different doctors that finally the 5th one would listen and actually read the blood test well and figured out what's wrong with my husband. The point being, I'm just shocked that they would carelessly do all those procedures when it was super hard to get doctors to actually listen to you.

I don't live there anymore but when I was growing up in Indonesia, the most 'popular' girls/boys and deemed as ideally 'beautiful' or 'handsome' usually were those with fair skin, larger eyes (of course the nose has to be a certain way, proportionate and slightly on the longer side==the term my mom always said "mancung"). The people who often fit these generally were "Indo" or what these days termed as "Hapa." They were so popular and I remember all the boys (and girls) always crushed on the students who are mixed-race (the general ones whom I bumped into were, being Dutch father/mother with Indonesian mother/father). As for ideal, back then, for female: slender. For male: tall and athletic. In HS, I did notice the boys did start to like "curvy" figure, but the women still had to be more on the slim side.

My guess is she didn't really suspect murders, she probably thought some people ended up arguing upstairs and heard someone was crying. Chani in the book, is a daughter of Liet (remember the planetologist in the first movie?), Chani and many Fremen dream of green-paradise on Dune, the dream Liet and Pardot brought to the Fremen decades back. And she's a believer in the Fremen religion, since she's trained to be a Sayyadina (reverend mother, yup, she'd likely have become one if Jessica fell). The movie Chani is a non-believer and mirrors all the audience's and book readers suspicion of the faux prophecy AND she also loves Dune as is. I can foresee her belonging to the faction rebelling against Paul in the next movie. I suppose I 'get' why the people find it hard to reconcile, what's going to happen to the love story between Chani and Paul seeing that she's fully against him. And won't it make her 'foolish' or really against her movie character to choose loving Paul and being with him despite knowing that Paul used her people, was becoming a tyrant and would be murdering billions of people?

Because she said if you kept being overtly mean, you may end up with the 'simp.' And this actually came true. In HS, there was this boy who's thoroughly a 'simp' for my friend. He would just follow her around like a puppy and be super-duper accomodating/nice toward her, and she didn't like him that way, very openly refused him. She told everyone how she thought he was not attractive to her and she was very clear that she didn't like him. But he didn't give up. He was that person who just latched on and wouldn't let go. He even applied and got accepted to the same university as she did (which was a tad odd because her parents sent her to study abroad and he got so many options but he chose her university choice). Guess what, to everyone's shock, she actually got married to him, around ten years after we all graduated HS. They're still married now, they have 2 kids. Now they kind of rewrote their story, she would tell people (who don't know) that they were best friends from HS, which was totally so far from the truth.

The mineral deal was to recoup billions of dollars US has given Ukraine in the last 3 years and possibly for the upcoming years, as the trade relation between Ukraine and US have been going downhill for years now.   209. Not all adoptions are bad. Some stories can turn bad while others are just great. I was a mentor to this young man, he was in a foster system due to abusive-neglectful-family and then a colleague of mine became his foster parent. Very troubled and my friend tried his best to be a good father to him, he even adopted him officially when he's 14. 4 years later, at 18, he attempted to kill my friend because he refused to give him money to buy drugs. Stabbed him 20 something times, luckily, 911 was called and my friend was saved. Adoptive son ended up in jail for a decade (he did plead guilty to attempted murder). On the other hand, my other colleague, she adopted 2 daughters from abroad, they grew up beautifully. No issue whatsoever, got full ride scholarships, excelled in study, successful now. So yeah, like every other thing, you never know what can happen...

  216. My parents were similar to hers. Very strict and expected the highest and were always very abusive when I didn't hit their expectation. Growing up was crazy awful, strict, lots of disciplines, punishments etc and yes, I did learn to lie a lot (and got caught and punished soon after) esp. when I know I couldn't achieve the level of excellence they wanted me to achieve. :( But I never once thought about murdering them, despite everything. It took years but I've learned to understand them more as people and why they did what they did. I learned to not 'idealize' them as in, I 'allowed' them in my head to be humans and accept that they're not perfect. I've learned to let go the past since for me, holding on to those resentments and anger didn't help me to be at peace. Sure, there are times when I got upset at them because old habits die hard (as in they could still be very demeaning verbally) but I've learned to work on a peaceful relationship with them.

I've heard so many people defending his killing because, if he's not under drug and acting out, and insisting his fake money was real, cops wouldn't have been called and him being 'high' (toxicology report claimed 2 drugs in his sytem) also contributed to those police sitting on his neck (for lack of better word). He's still a human being, deserving to live, so that's why the policemen who arrested him that day stood trial and found guilty.

  234. AJLT is so...depressing for me. I miss the cheekiness of SATC. While I was unable to really relate for the characters, I found joy and laughter watching the SATC. The love between the 4 girls (ok I'm aware off camera they're not real friends, oh it sucks) and their experiences presented in cheeky manner. With AJLT, no joy was found, it seemed the show was mad at people or something LOL. I still was unable to relate with AJLT despite them adding 4 POC characters to the mix. I actually think Golden Girls is more fun to watch than AJLT, that's HOW BAD I felt over some episodes during season 1 (I stopped watching after a couple of episodes) and I haven't watched season 2.

  235. I feel for you. My brother was in the same situation. She's insanely jealous, and easily angered. She's gorgeous thou, and very appealing to my brother that it was hard for me to watch him having a difficult time to break up with her. One day, she tried to proposition him for sex (putting her hand on his genital under the table, etc) when having dinner with HER family. He rejected her (but as discreetly as he could since his mother was in the same dining table). But she got so upset for the rejection, she started to yell at my brother in front of her mom. My brother made the mistake of screaming back at her and reacting. He decided to leave but his mistake was before he left he picked up one of the food boxes (the dinner was a takeout which my brother picked up) and pushed it to the floor, the leftover in that box fell on the floor. He went driving around to cool down b4 going home, when he got a call by the local PD that his (ex now) gf has called the police and claimed that he has put his hand on her by saying that the food that dropped to floor got on her feet. They asked him to go to the precinct, which he did and he was booked that night. It started then months of insanity, since he cut her off/break up with him. Then she threatened to kill him, and did so many crazy sh1t (stalking, trying to harm my brother, threats to unalive herself, hundreds of horrible texts, calls and voice mails from her part). We spent so much money $$ on lawyer and she wouldn't stop stalking him despite all the restraining orders (yes, she got a permanent one in fact). The charged were dropped but it was months of torture from her. My brother left the COUNTRY afterward to avoid her completely. It's years ago and he still wouldn't want to have any partner until today.

  238. I think they expected her to "understand" the arrangement between Andrew-Camilla-Charles. That arrangement had been in place way before Charles even considered Diana as a potential spouse. Although Charles only admitted to having affair after 5 yrs of marriage to Diana after their divorce, in reality, he's never stopped seeing Camilla. Diana never had a "chance" with Charles. She also either foolishly or naively thought that Charles was sincere in his affection toward her. They (the Royal side as well as Diana's family) assumed that she would go along with the whole arrangement, she was after all "pressured" to go through with the wedding and kept up the facade of happy newly married couple (for at least a few years). They underestimated or overestimated her, because she couldn't deal with the extra-marital arrangement in place. Even when she did have her own lovers, she was still unhappy and she was cutting, purging.. so on. Although at least she did find happiness in her children and her work. It was good that she did get a divorce, she was finally free to pursue a real relationship (so did Charles actually--after all, he appeared to always have been in love with Camilla the most), unfortunately, Diana passed away as she did though...

I only have one but it's very overwhelming because all the teachers do are not teaching, but dropping assignments and collecting their paychecks normally while the parents are having to work from home, or getting paycut, hours cut, possibly having to apply for unemployment due to getting laid off.

  284. I feel the anger this mother feels. First week, and we have over 180 assignments from the teachers. My kid said, it's never been this much when he has to go to school. He is very overwhelmed. And I share my computer, alas, it's also where I work so it's been extra stressful for all of us. My kiddo is a very ambitious student (he's a straight A student and is wishing to get a scholarship once he graduates HS) and he's been forcing himself to manage it, but the hours the child is working by himself cross over 8 hours a day (doing quizzes, online assignments, tests) Imagine the stress and feeling of isolation ...I'm so sad for him and overwhelmed too. All the teachers do now is just drop assignments on him. :(

  290. Omg. Nice to know that I'm living in the 'poor' side of town. East side represents! (LOL) I've only lived in Portland a little over a decade and I've always thought the North side was the one with more issues since they generally have gang violence in addition of homeless situation. My husband grew up in the East side and he seems to not find it to be the 'shitty' part of town. I'm sure he'll get irritated if I mention that to him. Just recent years, the East side has turned crappier with the houseless situation (so many camps popped up) and the 'defunding' of the police. Yeah, so many cars getting stolen, and catalytic converters thefts happen all the time, windows getting broken etc. In fact, my BIL had 1 car and a truck stolen, and the police just straight up told him that, if they found it, great, but don't expect much. Literally said to not hold our breath, it's like, oh well. And when someone's house got broken into, it took the police to show around 2-3 hours later. They do show up faster if there are gunshots...ETA: The North side these days have gone through many gentrification, I've seen many photos of really nice houses there now. During the daytime hours, I don't think the "scary" part of town look scary at all, honestly. I also have the same reaction when I drove around those areas in the past, but I guess, the bad things start happening in the evening hours...

Lietecia then lied online to smear Landen's name, calling her drug abuser, etc. Landen rebutted and said, she used to smoke pots but that was years years back before Lietecia and Al were married, etc and that she's not a drug user like Lietecia claimed online.

He didn't change side toward Henry, his step son, not until the end of the battle, so I doubted that he would just allow his wife to murder the princes.   295. My parents were harsh on me growing up because they wanted me to have at the very least the same standard of living they have achieved. They struggled and suffered growing up themselves, they came from poverty but then they 'made it' financially and expected that I reached that level. The issue was, they had a very different outlook on what would make me happy. They just put it simply: money is the safest thing, if you have that, you're safe, and to get that stability--they forced you (me) to be excellent academically and follow a very 'traditional' way and excel in everything. Race does play into it, my parents always remind me that people will always see me as foreign and will always discriminate against me so I will have to fight harder and be excellent with everything I do so those people who try to make my life hard would not matter that much to me... so I do understand what can be construed as 'abuse' (although I admit, many verbal and physical abuse happened)..was due to their very rigid conditioning on how thing should be...

They even consider it rather an 'insult' if you tip in Japan...although if it's in a tourist group, I think tourist guide should tell them it's mandatory. Not customary. And some restaurants, imo, should just put mandatory tip of 20% to begin with esp. if there are more than 6 people in the group. Where I came from, the same as Japan..no tipping whatsoever and when I learned English, we didn't even get taught about the norm of tipping so I'm sure I was probably annoying a lot of waiters/waitresses in the first 3-6 months of living in US. Then, it's too dang cold to golf...but not cold enough...to fish? C'mon now. Boats that no one knew about...I saw the map and there are 2 smaller body of water on the way to the bay, why didn't he fish there or try to launch his boat there? Why 90 miles away...I've heard the theory on why he did it, something about if he'd dispose of the body at a certain location in the bay, it may go into the open ocean and likely be missing forever, but he didn't manage to get to that spot due to the weather... While those are not direct evidence, it was suspicious, imo. There are more pieces/circumstantial evidence piling up...and it didn't built SP up to be this most-likely not-guilty person.

The era was totally different than today esp. dealing with pregnancy. I think Elizabeth was smart enough to know the risks so I doubt 'sex with Ross that night' was really her intention in sending him the note. In her mind, she probably assumed that in the coming days, Ross would do his best to prevent the marriage, but not via having sex with her. She probably thought Ross'd do more for her and plead with her to not go through with marrying George, and promise either to leave Demelza or to prioritize her and Geoffrey Charles financially.

But still, it didn't justify the beheading at all. Another divorce would not do for Henry. Anne was under a 'shadow' after he divorced Catherine of Aragon, even Elizabeth's status was questioned despite Anne and Henry were married (after the divorce). Only after Catherine's death, that Anne's status was stronger as a queen. Henry can't go through another divorce, especially if his new queen actually birthed a son he wanted (which happened), it'll cast a potential shadow. This was all in addition to the possibility of Anne remarrying and having son, then Henry's 'virility' would be come to questions.

Her portrayal in movies/series have been to put her opposite Catherine of Aragon (who was also a very pious Queen). She was as pious as Catherine of Aragon but she believed in the English reformation. She also mistakenly believed that Henry cared about her/loved her, I mean, how could she not? They waited to be together/married for 7 long years.

And in 1525, it was the first time he was looking into annulling his marriage to Catherine of Aragon. I suspected his head injury caused him to be changed. He started his affair with Anne in 1526, then 10 years later, after being married to Anne for 3 years, he had another jousting injury (this one was worse, he lost consciousness and couldn't be roused for a couple of hours and from then on, he had that leg ulcer for the rest of his life)....soon after, Anne was sentenced to death. I wonder if the two head injuries changed him thoroughly....

He only has 5 days for paid sick days a year. 1 week of paid vacation (ok 40 hours of paid vacation)... In our state, the minimum wage is $17 right now, which is an increase of $10 too, but the price of rent and everything else is insanely high too. Rent has climbed from $725 for 1 bedroom to the average of $1800 for 1 bedroom now.

WTF is wrong with that shooter... if the young man just knocked and he got shot, yeah, the shooter needs to be charged with a crime. I usually don't open door at night for strangers but I did once. She asked if she could use the restroom for her and her daughter (she's probably around the age of 3-4) since they claimed their car broke down a block away and they're waiting for her bf to come pick them up BUT he can't get to them until an hour and her daughter needs to use the restroom. They've knocked at other houses but no one let them in. I actually let them use the restroom despite being a little paranoid as a person and she asked if she could charge the battery of her phone for a little bit while they used the restroom which was ok by me. After they used the restroom, they thanked me and left to their car to wait for mom's bf. Nothing bad happened. So...yeah, sometimes...there is legit need, not just ppl trying to scam/do home invasion....so yeah...that's my lesson for that evening. Sure, I tend to not open doors afterward but it rarely happened ppl knocking on my door late at night.

Or when frustrated/irritated, said the word 'gah' or 'guh.' People online jump to conclusions quickly. There are evidence on the day of the shooting, Lori was helping Alex adjust the jeep he used to drive over to Brandon. Unfortunately, Melani is not indicted yet, since proof is flimsy. But knowing how she trespassed to Brandon's parents' house with Alex nearby lying in wait (of course, she was arrested by Utah LE for that) and how she also was one of the 5 people who knew where Brandon lived then, I can deduce she knew about the plan to murder Brandon for his life insurance (she refused to take off her name from that insurance too, by the way, despite being divorced).

As for selflessness, that's another thing, some may be more selfless, some may be more selfish. But sense of familial ties are very different here in US. They don't have the same family ties compared to those living in Asia. Many of them also can work and have worked from young age and go to school at the same time.The difference is, as much as they complain about public school system here in US, every children generally get to go to school, attendance is very important (but whether the students get good grades or fail their classes is really up to their efforts and home situation). And they also encourage parents to 'donate' to community school items (some for their own kids and some are given to those who can't afford it). Public school = free because we, property owners, pay 80% of our property tax into it --in our state. This young woman, if she's in US, she will be able to keep going to school and possibly take a part time job (many usually enter one of those fast food joints or work at retails)...she doesn't have to 'give up' her education for her younger sibling. I hope she's doing ok.

Zelensky made it seem like he's there to sign the deal, the press conference at the Oval office was meant to be a joint press conference where the two presidents were to talk about how the deal would be beneficial for both countries and to pave way to peace negotiation. It turned out, he was there to basically 'bargain' in front of the media, knowing that Trump's relation with most (not all) of the legacy media have been negative. So he basically 'hoodwinked' the administration to make them believe one thing and attempt to make them relent to Zelensky's demand of 'guarantees' in front of the press. Obviously Trump and Vance ended up arguing with him instead of backing down to him so that the people on the Left can accuse them of being bullies and encouraged EU as well as Canada to pour in more support. But in the end, we all know the EU are not enough. They still need the US to help. I honestly understand if the administration is pissed off and doesn't want to deal with Zelensky anymore....however, it seems that they still want to stop the war even if you have to deal with Zelensky and Putin both. Ugh.

  549. My BIL was a felon as well...he also was addicted to drug. But now, he has a very good job, he has a trade as a truck driver. He's been clean for a long time (plus you have to pass drug test as a truck driver). In the beginning, it was a tad difficult for him to land a good job in trucking due to his background, but after years of proving himself, he's set up good now. Yes, renting can also be hard when you're a felon, but he has always managed to rent even then. Now he's got a house too. So it is possible to lift yourself up.

I heard of the case but I haven't read/dwelved in them yet, so it's great to hear Dr. Grande's analysis today and now I understand more why the parents are also charged. Whether or not they would be able to be convicted will depend on the state laws and other factors, I'd say. I'm curious on how the trial would turn out (if they actually get there).

I enjoyed it, although first viewing, I gotta say I was a little bit disappointed with how they adapted the book, but after thinking about it and rewatching it two more times, I gotta say, yeah, I understand why they had to cut out so many scenes (it's insane how many scenes they filmed but cut out from the movie--scenes that are pivotal too in the book), they need to focus on something and they manage to adapt it pretty well, imo. I remember in HS, feeling uncomfortable but unable to assert my discomfort when my 'good' friend targeted this poor girl outside my group (to be fair, I belonged to this big group of girls who were...kind of stereotypical 'popular girls' if you want to look at those movie tropes) sure this girl was acting a little different than us and she really REALLY wanted to be friends with us, then my good friend started gossiping about this girl's being pregnant, etc because she has a pooch belly (then the poor girl was basically ostracized, people talked behind her back, etc)...I remember too in my senior year, arguing with the same friend and she managed to alienate me, targeting me... when I remember what she did toward me (part of the reason she was mad at me was because her big brother asked me out on a date and I agreed to one date)-it was scary af, even illegal, I'd say- and my friends from that group drifted away from me. Sure, in the end, we made up and my friends group basically 'embraced' me again (after I basically told that particular 'friend' I was not interested in her brother) but I still felt until today that I never quite trusted her and I just stopped being her friend and stopped contact with that friends group after HS.

  601. Ahh...summertime, when the kids are out of school and play on neighbor's front yard or backyard if there's no fence LOL. Kids (I'd say around 6 or 7 to early teens) used to play a lot in our front yard although not invited, albeit, our son was around that age, and the neighborhood kids knew him but even when my son's not around.. these kids just played in front of our yard or try to get to our backyard without permission (thank goodness our fence was high enough and they couldn't climb over it). These neighborhood kids sometimes would leave toys all over our yard too, so we had to keep these items safe and return them to the parents. Typical thou, it sounds like the shooter was tired of victim's kids playing in her yard and possibly leaving things behind then it unfortunately escalated into altercation with one of them shot. Back then, I just gave up and accepted that it's going to be that way until those kids grew up, it stopped eventually.

Ironically, it was his own (now ex) wife who would kill his son. And yeah, according to source, Al and Lietecia got together in an affair then Al's marriage to Landen broke down too. My friend still went to jail that day, because some of the cold noddle landed on someone's shoes and there's a witness.   650. I am close to this level of anger honestly. First of all, since there has been no plan in place, everything is a cluster f*ck. All the teachers decided to drop 30-40 assignments (from Khan academy so they don't even have to 'teach' anything) to be completed in 5 day period (and there are 6 teachers, so imagine having to shift through over 180 assignments in 5 days period plus online tests and quizzes)....even the kid said, it's never this much when they have to go to school. The way they teach on Khan academy is also very different from the teacher's and so they're confused. This 'long distance' learning is actually overwhelming them instead of helping and educating. WTF man. So they're gonna be sitting at home and just drop assignments so they don't get 'laid off and get their paychecks'? Currently I call BS and this is only the first week. (Also I have to work from home, and my kid prefers my computer to study so it's been even tougher because I have to work...we still have bills to pay). I'm just very frustrated.

I've seen teachers actually physically push or pull kids in a rather extreme way although the kids didn't do anything bad per se. Just my observation when I was the parents assistant of that day (the school my kid was in, offered parents (only 1 parent a day) who passed background check to volunteer to be teacher's assistant, in addition to their official teacher's assistant). It's a sad situation for everyone.

I'm going to guess that the owner of the rental property/house just wants to get out from under it (or need money) so that's why they want to just demolish and sell/rent out or rebuilt then sell/rent out. I mean, okay, this happened from last year, at least 9-10 months ago, no one has occupied the house, but the owner of the property has to keep paying the mortgage monthly and the property tax on a 'dead' property, they can't live there, no can do to selling/renting it out. It's good and dandy to not demolish the property before the trial is over but who's going to keep paying a property you can't use? Do you just let it go to foreclosure and screw up your credit? What if you're not part of the 1 percenter and can't afford to keep up paying the mortgage and property tax (plus insurance) so having this house is like money pit or some sort? I can kind of understand why the owner of the property wants to move on immediately to recoup any financial loss they have. If they don't want the house to be demolished, they probably should either purchase the property or pay the mortgage and tax and insurance for it until the trial is over....ETA: Oh so the house belongs to the University now, like the previous owner, the university is not in the business of losing $$. They're all about making $$, so I'm not surprised they want to move the property quickly.

While I didn't mind the race swap of the actor, I sure as heck am not ecstatic that the documentary's trying to claim Queen Cleopatra to be a black African woman based on the documenter's grandmother's opinion. Cleopatra VII Philopator Greek and where her lineage was traced, if anything, she would appear to be anything (Greek-even white) but a black African queen. The fact that this is claimed to be the 'real' history is why people got upset.

The point is they have an organization basically 'looking out' for workers' well-being. I must say, when my husband was a union member, his job pays extremely well (he worked hard for it too), we also guaranteed great price for health insurance, life insurance etc. (p.s. of course I'm not saying all unions are straight laced, but the one we were in really did take care of its members).

And aunt Lori was also being indicted for attempted murder upon Brandon's life. Property tax is raising really high and more tax is added to combat houselessness, so high that homeowners may be taxed out of their own homes. And rental owners who have their taxes raised had to raise the monthly rent too, so they can pay their tax. It's a neverending lose-lose situation, it feels like.

BUT, if you're employed but earning just a little over their standard of poverty (but still poor and can't afford health insurance), you're actually kind of 'out of luck,' as in, so hard to find affordable care without such a high deductible. I know this because when my husband lost his job, he got health insurance approved immediately. He had to apply for it because he lost his job because he got injured and needed medical attention. It took 6 months for numerous doctors-hospital, etc until he's finally better. All taken care of by our state's medicaid. But even then, it was such a hassle to get seen by a doctor or specialist...
