  1. I'm conflicted by the current European security situation. On the one hand, we are rapidly evolving into an independent security actor. This war has shown us that Europe is stronger and more resilient than anyone could have imagined. On the other hand, we should be moving towards peace in Ukraine. The counter-offensive cost so many dead to Ukraine and I cannot imagine they could do a spring offensive in 2024 that would fare any better. This unfortunately means concessions to Russia. But Russian military might is growing. It is possible that Russia wins on the battlefield in 2024. Now imagine if Russia does indeed win next year, during the US election. This would be a tremendous humiliation for US and NATO. There is the possibility that Biden would rather get involved in the war than accept the humiliation. And that would mean World War 3
