  1. Seems like there was a lot of (narcissistic) enmeshment going on between daughter and mother. IMHO clearly abusive, so I don't blame them for separating them. Just billing them those crazy amount sounds fraudulent as well.

  2. ​ @buschovski1  Exactly this! There was something severely wrong with her and her relationship with her daughter. Ideally she would have gotten a therapist to psychologically navigate the whole situation.

  7. Mother should have acted like an adult and not played reversal of roles as is common in narcissistic family structures. The problem being exactly that "mother's distress which increased her own". Role-reversal. Extremely toxic to children.

  9. Difficult situation. The mother in my opinion clearly had mental severe issues herself. I don't think it's far fetched that there was an overdose of narcissism in the mother (almost certain) and by extension Munchhausen-by-proxy. The mother-daughter relationship didn't seem healthy at all. Clearly the hospital didn't manage the situation well either.
