  1. I've witnessed a similar situation when I was traveling in western China. Outside on the sidewalk of a busy street, a woman was sitting in front of a restaurant, most likely working there, and then a guy came along and started to beat the s*** out of her for minutes, fists to the head, kicking her when she was on the floor until she was unconscious. No one bat an eye and the staff at the restaurant just continued working. Had to hold myself back tremendously to not get involved myself but that would have just turned everyone at the scene against me. Sad state of affairs.

  12. That hotel thing is sooo annoying. If you like treasure hunts, go to Qinghai, Gansu or Xinjiang province .. The treasure to be found is a bed under a roof for a night of course.

  15. In a lot of countries they don't even need your passport. i've been to over 70 countries and would say in less than 20 I had to show my passport in hotels or hostels.
