Never have I been more glad that I live in a newly-built house with photovoltaic cells on the top, quadrouple layered windows, heavy insulation and a heat-pump (runs on electricity from the roof). I will be warm come what may. But I think we all will manage somehow. Should Russia stop all gas deliveries we will still be able to get gas that will be able to cover some of the demand. It might not be comfortable but survivable at the very least. And I'd much rather freeze than see Russia win in Ukraine because if we give in now he will not stop in Ukraine. Neither will Taiwan be safe from China. It is in our interest to support both nations and if we are uncomfortable during winter - there are jumpers to stay warm.

Gas exports to EUrope are not sanctioned.

@getreal3148 Don't forget wind where there is wind. We need a mix of energy sources and much more connections between countries. It should be easy for Spain to export electricity to Poland...

@xenoplayz4524 On the expense of the government. EDF had to be nationalised and has a billion deficit (and high debt). Plus Germany has to export electricity to France right now because so many reactors have been shut down.
