  2. Not entirely true. German law states that anyone must have the possibility to become free again. Life sentence can be life sentence but after 15 years they have to check whether you can be eligible for parole. If that is denied you will stay inside prison until otherwise. The record holder was in prison for over 50 years and got paroled a few years ago. The average is about 19 years
