Because Russia doesn't offer him anything that would allow him to make peace... Russia wants Ukraine to completely give up all the occupied land and more, plus no compensation for cost, no NATO membership and some sort of demilitarisation. Those are not terms Ukraine can accept.

@bcstechnologylimited896 Driving cheaper and faster for distances under 300 - 400 miles? In France they run HRS for those distances (Marseille - Paris) and it beats out the plane and the car.

He just got the verdict: Life imprisonment and established heavy and severe guilt. Which will translate to 15 years minimum that must be served and an additional time because of that severity; that can be in principle indefinite although rarely does it mean more than 20 years. Afaik they didn’t put him in protective detention. So I would wager that he could be released the earliest in 20 years

1. Bridges are military targets and legit ones at that. The bridge was used to supply troops - legitimate target. 2. Since when is a playground a target for missile strikes.

Reminder: No they don't. Our security does not depend on the pacific ocean where more than half of your fleet is currently stationed. Allmost all troops in Germany are logistics personnel for your operations in the middle east. The direct contribution to NATO is not outstandingly higher.

@bcstechnologylimited896 A) No. While the US spends 73% of the entire NATO military spending by country, not even half of it is going towards NATO related activities. Your USS Ronald Reagan stationed in Japan does not count as NATO support because it is well outside the area that NATO covers. B) The direct costs of NATO. The US spends some 20%, Germany 15% or so... C) UN? Lion's share? The US spends 22%, Japan 10%, China 8%, Germany 6% of UN costs. And Germany + Japan do not even have a veto right in the UN Security council so that is that.

Crimea doesn't belong to Russia. It is to this day legally a part of Ukraine as recognised by international law. If you think Russia has a historic right to Crimea because they won it in 1774 from the Ottoman Empire (that's right) then you would basically allow Europeans to regain their colonies, some of those are older than the Russian claim on Crimea...
