  2. 1. It was WW2. At this time cities and their civilians were legitimate targets of war. The Russians did it, the Germans did it, the Brits did it, the Japanese did it. Everyone bombed everyone and civilians on both sides were free game. In fact, there is a bit of a debate who was worse to enemy civilians, Germany or Japan. The treatment of those deemed inferior was sadistic. 2. Why would they be held accountable? Again, it was war and the cities were legitimate targets. The only new bit here was the weapon, not the actual killing. The US killed more people by bombing Tokyo with conventional weapons. 3. Socialists lol...
