  8. Lol what? The most important component of chips is Silicone… and that is literally everywhere. In fact, wafer grade silicone comes from some Quartz deposits in Norway and the US. What exactly does Brazil provide that is indispensable and crucial in chip making that cannot be sourced elsewhere and is a direct result of the technological capabilities?

  9.  @sombraarthur  Chips use those materials in trace amounts. Depending on the exact process, somewhere in the 1 ppb range. We are talking about relatively small quantities. Of those 4 mentioned producers; 85% of the world output is done by China alone. And Australia recently started a mine and the US are starting another one. REM are not rare. They are just very dirty to refine. Yeah, but who is really the genius. The people who invent the plane and built it or the people who dig up the ground for it and sell it because they can’t use them? That’s not to say that mining isn’t important. But they can only mine because somehow the metals are where they are irrespectively of the host nation. Whereas the process of aircraft design is an entirely human feat indicative of technological prowess of the country building it.

  17.  @D.pietertje  Lol what? You can’t get such an optical apparatus anywhere else on the planet except from Zeiss. They spend decades building this apparatus to use EUV. The optical system is the most complex part inside the machine that ASML assembles. ASML is an assembler of subcomponents they purchase from suppliers like Carl Zeiss. Without them, ASML can’t built any machine. Don’t talk about things you don’t understand dude. Lol, I am not American. And your highschool education isn’t very good if you can’t even understand that nobody named ASML a German company in the entire video to begin with.
