@notayoutuber1856 We see how much Republican states flourish (the GDP is 13,000 Dollars lower per capita........)

Nah. California would produce the fruits and veggies, New England provides the fish.

The thing is that the divide is not a state issue but the divide is between urban liberal and rural conservative areas. The cities in Texas are democratic whereas Illinois would be republican if it wasn't for Chicago. To solve this, one would have to separate cities and countryside.

@boltskyline2957 It's nothing that the rest of the developed world doesn't have. Look at us in Europe. We are hardly socialist but in all states here, the government recognises the need for healthcare, for example.

Somehow the blue states have to finance the red states

@aussiegod4269 This is a very flawed assumption. Socialism in the extreme forms of communism will become difficult but there are some things that the government is needed for. 1. If you run out of other peoples money, you either make debt or go bankrupt. The US has about 23 billion dollars indebted. This is not just true for socialism. 2. The state should guarantee a minimum of security and not just military security but social security. Actually you would find that supporting lower classes can have positive economic effects. Stress is a major source of health problems, reduce it a bit and the economy as a whole will save a lot of money on medical treatment.

@kurtjohansson1265 Well, somehow other countries retained their manufacturing industries. Look at Japanese and German industries. Most of them produce at home and both countries have high wages and high labour costs. The US just has a different business culture where profit is everything and should be maximised at all costs. Workers in the US also do not get the same education / training as people in Germany with vocational training get. Globalisation can be a chance for everyone but look how GM never bothered to produce cars appealing to foreign markets. And lastly, the economic model of some towns is risky. A small town with one factory is completely dependent on it. Not a very viable strategy.
