  11.  @ivotebasedonmoney3886  That is Economics 101. You will however find that demand and prices aren’t linked so directly but price is just one of several components of demand. Theoretically prices would go up and consumer spending will go down. We have a practical example of a minimum wage introduction into a country of similar wealth recently; Germany. They introduced a federal minimum wage for the first time in their post cold-war history; it was like 11$ or so in 2014. Conservative economists predicted a slashing of jobs and lower demand. Yet after a few years now we have yet to see a job-cutting in Germany. People want to continue to use certain services and will pay for them. I am generally conservative on the economic side and not the biggest fan Liz Warren or Bernie Sanders. But I support a higher minimum wage (not necessarily 15$) because I see little benefit of supporting a low wage industry that can only operate profitable if government comes and pays for the deficit. 15$ an hour, 40h a week and 50 weeks a year is 30,000$. That isn’t a wage that can be used to make a living in many parts of the USA. I also recommend to widen focus on demand instead. Introducing a higher minimum wage means that a lot of people have more dollars in their pocket which they will be able to spend. Economics isn’t as straightforward as you make it out. I also find your characterisation of conservatives living in the world of cause and effect a little amusing given that they gave us Reaganomics and trickle-down policy; and those two absolutely gutted the middle class.
