  5. It does. The british empire lasted 400 years. The roman one more than 600 (west rome) and over a 1000 (east rome). The romans had small ships, enough to carry men around but not for an expedition to the shores of India. They also had to march much more than the british. The romans gave rise to the romanic languages, the roman law is basis of many european laws. Latin was Lingua Franca and still is used extensively as a factual language.

  6. Just because you abolish something does not mean that it did actually end. They did not "deserve" the land in the way you think, they used brutal force to get them. A few centuries later, you would attack Germans for doing the same thing in WW2. You can't compare them but the video does. And so do your friends. The romans are in my eyes superior as they did not have the technology the british had but still achieved this vast empire which was largely stable. The height of Britains power is long gone. Don't you think the romans couldn't fight two enemies at the same time?
