I have heard that all along decades ago that "in 20 years we are out of a job". Didn't materialise, won't materialise. Jobs change, work is eternal.

Robots can't do all the jobs. In the end, the people want to have a clean bed....

1. China cannot just import people. They have to be willing to come to China and China must be willing to accept them. In small numbers no problem but in large numbers from Africa and other poorer regions, well, you get the idea. Not likely. 2. China isn't all that attractive. Sure, the cities are modern and safe but the language is completely different to that of most other nations and not ubiquitus like Spanish, English, French, Arabic..... The scripture is even worse. There are significant cultural barriers that might be fascinating as a tourists but annoying as fuck as an immigrant. 3. Chinese people do not enjoy the same rights and freedoms we Westerners enjoy. We have the right to a free and fair trial for example. We have elections. We can form political groups. We can even watch Winnie the Pooh and access foreign media without the usage of a VPN. 4. The East may rise but the West does not decline. The East recovers from their century of weakness but the west had 2 centuries of prosperity and those aren't lost. The West will continue to be the most affluent region in the world with the highest pull on migrants. With a very high quality of life, life expectancy, food security and strong and free societies.

It would be more sustainable in the long run but in the short run, it will cost a lot of money and investment and at least 2 generations to stabilise it. And both China and Japan seem to go the same way. Overached societies.

Sure there are too many humans. Absolutely. But that is a problem for earth. Countries have other problems.
2
Absolutely. It is a function of development. But don't forget that Russia has a huge immigrant population too. They have a big emigrant population though too.
2
True but the latter already have some sort of social net and immigration; China has neither...

If they don't reform, yes. If they went the way Taiwan, South korea did and democratise they could very well be Chinas miracle 2.0

Even so, they will run into big problems and it will be interesting to see how they can solve them.

65 will not cut it though. It does not in Europe and as the standards of living rises so will reluctancy and expectations of retirement.

The economies of Europe are saturated and quite healthy. Especially the northern European ones. But yes, population should rise.
1
You are aware that it costs an immense amount of money, time and nerve to move across the Atlantic ocean to us Europeans?
1
This isn't wanted by China. China has perhaps the lowest foreign born population in %. Migrants go to Europe and America and migrate in the south east of Asia. Indians are far more likely to move to Europe than to China.

That is false. In the US at least the number of abortions have dropped steadily in the past. The big problem is that women don't get that many children.
1
Even China cannot kill 60 million anymore.
1
You can't force people to have children. And don't forget the CCP isn't so settled as they want you to believe it.
1
That and societies have become accustomed to fewer children.
1
Absolutely. The next world war will start in Asia. Lets hope we Westerners can stay out and watch the carnage from afar.
