Spending billion$ on EV charging when enough "ICE charging" (aka gas stations) already exist. Goverments sure know how to waste taxpayers' money . . .

Humans are carbon-based . . . . "Soylent Green" will provide . . . ?

A day will arrive when we know the answer - and EV owners will be very upset . . .

Yes, twice the power for half the time is the same energy, but the KVh rating to deliver would be commensurately higher, leading to heavier infrastructure, which the utility company will make users pay for, even if only needed in short bursts. You may well have been involved with installations, but have you ever worked in finance and seen tariff rates and bills?

@paul756uk2 Not a lot of common-sense amongst EV proponents then. ‘Green’ aspects of the “net zero” fiasco are only colour of money and naïveté of both promoters and investors.

@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 OK then, explain how he's wrong. In UK, the ECML (400 miles of it) was electrified decades ago, but now that more trains are running further on it, sub-stations are being enhanced, at appropriate intervals, to meet increased demand. This is a self-contained electric train-set, a mere micrcosm of the problem on a national scale.

@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 Demand isn't going to reduce any time soon - methods of power generation may change in differernt proportions though.

Fibre optic cable is replacing copper wire to homes for faster internet speeds. Recycled copper will become available in huge quantities . . . . or so we'll be told !

@robertkubrick3738 I'm sure of it too, but what we'll be told is the usual can-kicking political b/s . . .

@sbeers88 It was imaginative sci-fi, but now not so far 'round the corner' as is a viable EV world?
