  1. Interesting and unusual reference to finance and [in particular] production difficulties in UK post-WW2. Introduction of socialist ideas by the 1945 election of a Labour Party governement saw little or no replacement/rebuilding of worn-out industrial assets, but vast spending on nationalisation and welfare. The country has been competitively hamstrung ever since . . .

  2. Those Mig15s had derivatives of RR 'Avon' engines, gifted from a dozy UK government. That engine isn't mentioned for any British aeroplanes.
