  7. It started back in Maggie's day, with the concept of buying from low-cost areas and supplying high-price services. She was a clever, intelligent woman, but lacked the common-sense to see where the idea would go. North Sea oil revenues paid for redundancy benefits and ‘restructuring’. Now, we cannot produce in volume the heavy products we require (heaven forefend that we should ever need to fight a war). We're in the entertainment business, with some (I'm told) excellent 'gaming' software but tourism is lauded as way to wealth (as if). Fifty years ago, we went to Spain on holiday, the costas were inexpensive. Today we're in competition, but without the sunshine. We're importing more and more people, to do less and less production . . .

  11. In July we will have perhaps our final opportunity to reject all the lunacies of LibLabCon. Vote as if survival depends on it, because it does! Tactical voting is choosing oblivion. That the CONservative Party would be destroyed has to be the least of our worries. Not that UK should have the usual alternative; it's time to reform the voting system. Reform Party may not be much but, with threats to the UK, it’s our only sane choice.
