E. Jean Carroll has claimed that she spoke to Donald Trump and Ivana Trump in the late 1980s, which contradicts Trump's previous statement that he had never met her. Trump had also claimed that Carroll was not his type, which is hard to believe given the reported interaction between them.

Memo to the Fed: Stop raising interest rates. Inflation is slowing. To continue punishing workers by increasing rates to drive unemployment, especially when America’s safety nets are in tatters, is just plain cruel.

I have never eaten at McDonald's because the food was delicious; I only went there because it was affordable. However, it seems that McDonald's has forgotten about its affordability, so I have decided to stop going there.

GREAT NEWS! Democrat Leirion Gaylor Baird handily won re-election as the mayor of Lincoln, Nebraska — by a margin of 54% to 46%. She prevailed over her Republican opponent despite the record amount of money poured into the race by the state GOP’s political establishment, which made it the costliest mayor’s race in the city’s history. Baird’s victory came after months of relentless TV, digital and snail-mail advertisements that falsely painted Nebraska’s Capital City as some kind of criminal wasteland. Luckily, all those negative attacks weren’t enough to allow Republicans to boot the state’s top elected Democrat from office.

A massive crowd has descended on Missoula, Montana - home of my loving partner, Representative Zephyr - to proclaim that they will not be silenced. The event is expected to grow in the coming hours. They've woken a movement in Montana.

A former top prosecutor for Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Andrew Weissmann, has expressed his bewilderment at how Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas could have believed that he was following the law while failing to disclose the hundreds of thousands of dollars in travel, vacations, and tuition he received from Republican billionaire Harlan Crow. Weissmann stated that it is too early to conclude that this is a criminal violation, but the Department of Justice should investigate if there is enough evidence to do so. He expressed concern about the "litany of money" given to Thomas, emphasizing that judges should never do anything that even gives the appearance of impropriety, and that Thomas may have violated a criminal statute. Weissmann believes that an investigation into Justice Thomas's conduct is necessary.

Lawyers for E. Jean Carroll have concluded her civil case against Donald Trump shortly after jurors were presented with a deposition video in which Trump appeared to confuse Carroll with his ex-wife Marla Maples. This video is significant because Trump had previously claimed that Carroll was not his type and therefore he could not have sexually assaulted her.

@heavenlysonshine yes... and she has pictures to prove it... trump even called her "Marla" (while looking at the photo) contradicting the statement, she was not his type :-) hehehehehe

Allegedly, GOP megadonor Harlan Crow paid for private school tuition for a relative of Justice Clarence Thomas, a fact that was not disclosed by Thomas. This raises serious concerns about the integrity and impartiality of the Supreme Court. The public has a right to know about any potential conflicts of interest that may exist within the highest court in the land. This lack of transparency only serves to undermine the legitimacy of the Supreme Court and raises serious questions about the impartiality of its members. It is crucial that our institutions, especially those responsible for upholding our laws and protecting our democracy, remain transparent and accountable. Any perceived bias or impropriety can erode public trust in the judicial system, which ultimately undermines the foundations of our democracy. The Supreme Court plays a crucial role in our society, and it is essential that it remains above reproach. Allegations of undisclosed conflicts of interest only serve to erode public confidence in the judiciary and create a legitimacy crisis that must be addressed.

The Special Counsel Jack Smith is investigating Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and has received help from someone who used to work there. This insider has given investigators a picture of the room where some important documents were stored. The investigation is focused on whether Trump tried to hide these documents from the Justice Department after they were subpoenaed. The prosecutors have also asked for surveillance footage from Trump's company, the Trump Organization. This new development is a big step in the investigation and may cause concern for Trump and his inner circle. It seems that Jack Smith is taking the investigation very seriously and is working hard to uncover any potential wrongdoing.

Representative Lauren Boebert has received negative news, as a formal complaint has been filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) accusing her of unlawfully spending $60,000 on "get out the vote" calls and texts leading up to her closely contested midterm election. This spending would be considered as in-kind independent expenditures, but Boebert allegedly did not report it as such. The complaint was submitted by End Citizens United. According to the complaint, Boebert may have made an illegal in-kind contribution to herself that exceeds the federal law limit of $5,000 or used the funds to influence another campaign without disclosing it, as required by federal law. The President of End Citizens United mentioned that "Congresswoman Boebert used her leadership PAC as a personal bank but, unfortunately for her, this practice is illegal under federal law."
