While I would most likely push my child to wait until they are 18 to seek any non-reversible medical treatment if it did turn out they were transgender, Republican Gov. Mike DeWine. Put it best here: “Ohio would be saying that the state, that the government, knows better what is medically best for a child than the two people who love that child the most, the parents.” The government should have no rights in these cases when medical professionals sign off on a parent’s decision. Period! I understand that you may disagree with the parent’s decision but that doesn’t give you the right to tell the parent that you know what’s best for their child.
