Elon Musk has lost $41 billion in the past two weeks. He's still the richest person in the world. Don't tell me that billionaires can't afford a wealth tax.

@mattfoley6082 is that your best excuse to cover the fact that just because someone is RICH, he can't do anything wrong? Nice try...stop being so ignorant :-)

Uh-oh! So, today, they were asking Donald Trump some serious questions, and it seems like he accidentally admitted to doing something not-so-good. The lawyer asked him about a paper from the bank, and Trump said he signed it. Then, the lawyer pointed to a part that said he did it to make the bank lend him money, and Trump agreed. The lawyer asked if what was written there was true, and Trump said yes. Basically, Trump admitted that he kind of tricked the bank by not telling the truth about his property value so they would give him a loan. Oopsie!

Here are some notable promises Barack Obama made during his 2008 presidential campaign: Reform healthcare by passing a plan that lowers costs and covers more people. He did accomplish this through the Affordable Care Act, though it did not lower costs as much as promised. Withdraw combat troops from Iraq within 16 months of taking office. He completed the withdrawal in 2011. Close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. He was not able to close it due to opposition in Congress. Increase the federal minimum wage to $9.50 per hour by 2011. The minimum wage remained $7.25 during his presidency. Pass comprehensive immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship. His efforts on immigration reform failed due to lack of congressional support. Reform education through programs like Race to the Top. He passed education reforms but some teachers' unions opposed them. Invest $150 billion over 10 years in developing clean energy. His 2009 stimulus bill did include major investments and tax breaks for clean energy. Reduce the influence of lobbyists and special interests in Washington. His administration did enact some reforms but lobbyists remained influential. Allow importation of prescription drugs from other countries to lower costs. He did not implement this policy. Ensure all combat brigades were equipped with night vision, re-coilless rifles, and other equipment. Major defense budget increases accomplished this.

Trump literally just tried to defend himself against claims that he was responsible for Trump Org financial records in July 2021 by telling the Judge that he was President in 2021: Trump: "I was so busy in the White House. My threshold was China, Russia and keeping our country safe." The State attorney responded: "Just for the record. You weren't president in 2021?" Perhaps he should have kept his lips zipped in court as well? I know he thought he won the election but he certainly was no where near the White House in July 2021. Right?

Here are some notable promises Donald Trump made before and during his 2016 presidential campaign: Build a wall along the southern border with Mexico, and make Mexico pay for its construction. The wall was not built, only some existing barriers were replaced, and Mexico did not pay. Impose tariffs on companies that manufacture goods outside the US. He did impose some tariffs, mainly aimed at China, but this caused disruptions to global trade. Completely repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). The act was unchanged during his term. Lock up Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server. Clinton was never prosecuted. Enact term limits on Congress members. This did not happen. Take no vacations and never play golf if elected president. However, Trump took frequent trips to properties he owned and played golf regularly. Release his tax returns. He never released his returns while in office. Create a deportation force to deport all undocumented immigrants. Deportations did increase under Trump but mass deportations did not occur. Promote "clean coal" and revive the declining coal industry. The coal industry continued its decline during his term. Achieve economic growth of 4% per year. Growth topped out at around 3% annually during his term. Eliminate the national debt within 8 years. The debt increased significantly under Trump.

Here are some key features of a communist state: One-party system - The communist party is the sole political party and holds power. Opposition parties are forbidden. Planned economy - The means of production like factories and farms are owned and controlled by the state. The economy relies on central planning rather than free market forces. No private property - Citizens cannot own land, businesses, or capital. Everything belongs to the community and state. Collectivized agriculture - Farms are controlled by the government and farmers work together in larger collectives rather than individual plots. Near total social equality - There are no large gaps between the rich and poor in terms of wealth and life opportunities. Wages are similar across occupations. Strong censorship - The spread of ideas is heavily censored and controlled by the communist party. Media is state-owned. Atheism promoted - Religion is discouraged and seen as conflicting with loyalty to the Party and state. Extensive welfare programs - Basic needs like housing, healthcare, and education are provided by the state and free for all citizens. Strong military power - Communist states often maintain large militaries for both national defense and ideological spreading of communism abroad.
