Greece was forced to cut ties with Russia, even though it was Russia who freed them from the Ottomans and they are both Orthodox brothers, Eastern Europeans were forced to cut ties with Russia too. Georgia is not EU candidate because they are neutral towards Russia, while all nations who are willing to be anti-Russia can become EU candidate immediately. Ukraine and Moldova for example. Never mind the corruption and fiscal problems. The EU is ruled by USA and Germany. Seems like the Germans haven't changed after all.

  4.  @vegemarkr4582  free will? Hardly. Poorer EU countries follow the richer ones, they dictate what you say. After all, they pay billions every year towards them. And sure, it's a trade-off which they signed for but the EU would benefit from diversity of thought. This is not allowed and is suppressed.

In order to become carbon free they will become forceful to force you to follow their agenda. In time, EU will become unrecgonisible. Von der Leyen and her WEF buddies are scheming snakes.

  6.  @0000-z4z  Greece can ofcourse choose what to do, but Russia is like kin and Greece welcomes many Russian tourists every year. There biggest group actually. Now they are no longer welcome there. That is not for their interest. It isn't in EU interest to become fully anti-Russia. Russia is here to stay, best EU can do is to act as man and step in to compromise a peace deal. They can keep the territories they took, but in exchange will help rebuild Ukraine as well as not annex the lands but simply allow them to have autonomy. Ukraine will not interfere with their internal matters. They agree and sanctions are lifted. All sides happy. That would be wise. But, because EU are nato dogs, they can't make such move.
