@tremedar lol no we can't. Russian oil is in huge quantity and cheap, nowhere else can you find that. Plus fossil fuel will still be needed for atleast a few decades since green and nuclear energy are too slow and take too long to make use of it. Our prices are through the roof and will only increase, we will pay more for less and if we start paying in Ruble not only will the dollar and euro fall but also these sanctions will be come obsolute. It would be like all the drawbacks for us and for Russia everything would become even better then before the war. We are stuck, Putin is about to check mate us. Best to give him what he wants. He will not attack Europe, they are in nato. He only cares for Ukraine.

@antred11 that has been my solution the moment the war broke out. I foresaw all this happening. We are shooting ourselves in the foot. Europe will be fine with nato, so Russia won't invade further West. He wants Ukraine, which he should be given. Ukraine was warned not to seek out nato, they got what they deserve.

@hmhmoinsdk Germany went to Qatar to ask for some oil. Qatar was only able to give 100 times less then what Germany imports from Russia. There is not enough oil for Europe, Russia has plenty and dirt cheap prices. Soon everything will be paid in Ruble, Yuan, Riyal etc. After that, Russia will demands Rubles for Russian goods like timber, metals, foods etc. This will slowly replace the dollar and euro. In the long term, we will suffer massively. This is not a fight we can win even economically and honestly we shouldn't try to fight Russia. It's not our fight, some rich americans like Hunter Biden care because of shady practices. Europe and especially Ukraine will be the biggest losers in the long term, unless the war ends now by giving Russia what it wants. Europe has the US and nato, Russia won't dare invade further but it will demand respect. It's better we give Russia the respect it desires.

@teaser6089 lol wishful thinking. Europe needs Russian gas for atleast a few decades, it can't just cut off Russian gas just like that. Finding alternatives wether other gas sources or green or nuclear energy will not only take years, but will also be of less quality and much more expensive. On top of that, the Netherlands is commited not extract any more gas since it is causing issues to the enviroment, houses and residents. The EU is shooting themselves in the foot, you're not ending this war with these draconian sanctions. You're literally pushing the world to a recession much more worse then 2008. Russia is too big, just accept you can't beat them. And you won't pay in Rubles now, like Putin said. But gradually, he will push the Ruble more and more. First energy, then metals, then food and goods. You will end up being at the mercy of Russia and our best friend China, who is watching the show with big grin seeing what Europe is doing to themselves. The USA is not your friend, don't sacrifice your people for them. The USA has only interests, no friends.
