Finland enjoyed from there neutrality, and Russia had never plans to be an enemy again. Age of empires had ended. Well, that was untill nato provoked Russia. Now Russia is acting as a force against imperialism and colonization, as we can see in Africa. Russia is kicking France and the USA out, along with the great friend China. And they build ties and friendships, unlike the West.

  25.  Esphaeras Praestans  Ukraine has been killing ethnic Russians for 8 years. Russia had the Minsk accords with Ukraine, supervised by Germany and France. Guess who broke the accords? Ukraine, on orders of nato. The regime in Ukraine is no brother of Russia, and the people fighting against Russia are no brother either. Their deaths will ensure Ukraine will be de-millitarized and de-nazified, who were fuelled by nato ofcourse. Effectively: Russia will be kicking nato out of Ukraine. Finland will now be a hostile enemy to Russia, with nato bases on the border. Pray nato doesn't start a war against Russia directly, Finland will be the bufferzone.

  29.  Esphaeras Praestans  There is no single way Putin could had ever invaded neutral Finland. Why? Politically it would look bad. Nato or no nato, Finland has nothing to fear. Even Ukraine invasion couldn't had succeeded. Putin went in with a very small force. Why small force? It would be politically difficult to create a big army because the invasion was not liked. It's nato which makes conflicts possible- and gave Putin the power to expand his army. America has a bad influence on Europe.

Because of sanctions and European hostilities. All of Russia now 100% supports Putin, many men have voluntuered to fight in Ukraine. So much men, some had to be sent away because the army was already big enough. Had Europe stayed calm, this war would had ended by now without Ukraine losing land. Now? Ukraine is finished. And economically, Europe is finished as well. Go cling to America, you have traded freedom for safety and will get neither.

  34.  @romielee6668  They had a treaty. Finland broke the treaty. Russia will now make sure Finland pays for it, no need for an invasion to do so. I expect economic sanctions on Finland after Russia wins Ukraine and completely owns it. And if nato chooses to confront Russia by then, expect many Finnish men to die on the battlefield.
