Europe lacks the energy and resources to compete with China. They have to secure relations with countries like Russia, India and in the global South for that. You know, be an adult and professional. Unfortunately the European leadership are too amateurish, arrogant and ignorant to do that. This will be course corrected, once all the European leadership is replaced by patriotic and strong ones. Like Viktor Orban of Hungary. He did not break relations with Russia, because he understood Hungary's dependency and the collapse de-coupeling would bring. And he understand Russia is friendly, just don't interfere or fund proxy wars against them. Russia will always have escalatery dominance, like ex-president Obama used to say.

Europe doesn't have the energy and resources for that

@FullPerspective Europe, the continent of Europe, is resource poor. The USA, the continental USA, is resource rich. That is the difference. America became a superpower because of the resources they have. Europe doesn't have enough.

@FullPerspective America has enough resources, and many more untapped resources.

@FullPerspective China will be fine. Europe got rid of Russia, so Russia can indefinitely support them. Europe made a mistake doing so, Russia doesn't need Europe. Europe most definitely needs Russia. Not only for their own energy and resources needs, but also to counter China. If you want to counter China the last thing you would want is Russia and China to be closer. They basically checkmated themselves. European leadership is so amateurish.

@InformedKiwi Go cry about it. EV's will have no appeal in the long run, the craze will end. It takes too long to recharge, can't bring you far and the metals are stolen in poor countries. Childlabour will intensify. The world is healthy, more plants then ever, more ice then ever. We don't need EV's, what we need is a healthy economy. When people can't afford groceries and homes they will demand it. Only way you can achieve affordable prices are with fossil fuels. Also: freedom. Cash is king, gasoline cars are freedom. You need these in society to run a healthy economy and have a strong middle class. The government has to know its place.

Nobody wants an EV

@googleisacruelmistress1910 EV's are hip and new. It's being aggressively marketed and even forced by governments. Many subsidies are given for it. Like solar panels and windmills. People don't want EV's, reloading is a hassle but even worse is it brings us closer to digitalization and more government control. Like cash, gasoline cars are freedom. Everything becoming more expensive is the same reason with the EV's stuff, bringing us closer to a CBDC. Our governments hate us, if we allow them to do what they want they would be worse then the CCP and Nort Korea. This is not a hyperbole. These people in power are crazy.

@wangyaohan8824 Who control the fuel production? I believe it's called OPEC+. It's in our interest to keep good ties with them. Europe screwed themselves by getting rid of Russia, a very harsh lesson. They still buy Russian oil, but now they do it from third parties not directly and it cost them extra. USA is lucky to be energy independent like Russia, so they don't suffer from those consequences. Who controls the money? You do. We do. Voting for competent politicians, who don't overspent and give us huge explosive inflation is our power. Nobody can just declare your money invalid. However, CBDC will do just that. Within a month the money will be deleted from your accounts. Cash is king is the rule, not the exception. Gasoline cars are freedom.

You are clueless, super clueless. Europe can't do that. What Europe needs to do is be like China: be apolitical. Trade with whomever, including Russia. De-coupling from Russia created chaos. De-coupling from China will create revolutions.
