Sanctioning them disrupts energy trade, and forces other countries to decrease their own outputs as well. Like OPEC+ is doing. As long as sanctions persist, we can expect inflation to be high forever. The EU and USA are sanctions obsessed, a change in regimes is needed to end sanctions. As long as Joe Biden and EU bureaucrats are in charge, they will never remove sanctions. The citizens have to make a noise. The sanctions hurt us the most, us in the West.

He could had defected, war was going very bad around 1944 for Germany. This is not only true for him, but with all soldiers.
