@Lojsta Sweden and Finland are already unofficial members of nato, joining will only make it official. They can join if they can manage it, but I don't think it's a smart idea. Expect Putin and Russia to be very hostile, and ofcourse there is no going back to business usual. Russia will move businesses away from Finland, and Finland can forget about Russian tourists and customers to enrich their economies. Also, loss of cheap Russia energy. All energy purchased from now on will be expensive worldwide for you. There will also be a loss of the famous neutrality Sweden was known for, tho it doesn't really matter since the world can already see Sweden was never truelly neutral. Same with Switzerland, but that is a different topic. Joining is a headache for you, America will station soldiers and nukes on your land and you will be the centre of the coming cold war. Do not expect life to be peaceful.

@Lojsta Ukraine made too many promises about not joining that joining in the end would not be accepted. Russia made sure that Ukraine will be neutral, wether it will be willingly or by force. Understand that you can't fool a nuclear superpower like that, it's not acceptable.

@Lojsta Ukraine didn't, but nato did. And Ukraine wanted to join nato. Putin gave Ukraine 8 years the chance to resolve this peacefully, he went into Ukraine to force them to implement the Minsk accords. This was never a war, this was a SMO. The plan was this: get into Ukraine, march to Kiev, talk with Zelensky, make a deal where Kiev promises to remain neutral and then leave. That's it. But then nato got involved, and the rest is history. Now it's a war, and Ukraine is being destroyed and with them is nato. Europe is economically finished as well, and the US hegemony is at risk of ending. All because nato gambled everything on Ukraine. A bad investment it is.

@Lojsta Also: the coming cold war will be hell for the West. The West is at its weakest right now, and the global South has gained power. Russia and China, along with BRICS+, will overpower you. Be it economically and politically. The world loves and respects Russia and China, and everyone is suspicious of the West. This war has broken the illusion of Western supremacy, or atleast the illusion that they are invinceble.
