German leadership already know the truth, but they stay silent because they are afraid of the USA. They sanction Russia and help Ukraine kill Russians even if it doesn't make strategic sense. If you had joined each other even more then Europe would had overtaken the USA even and rival China. Both Germany and Russia would benefit massively. You burning all bridges with Russia will hurt Germany the most. Russia will manage, and is allying itself with other nations against the USA and its vassal state Germany. This is a nightmare, which the USA thought they could prevent by provoking this Ukraine war.
