  1.  @worldgonemad5866  there was a diffrence between british and american slavery. With british slavery, all slaves were property of the crown and they were all treated the same. During american slavery, multiple private instituation and people existed who owned slaves, and they all treated slaves how they wanted to. Obviously not all those people treated slaves well, thats why african americans today still call you out. Not all whites today owned slaves, nor were the ancestors of all whites on the continent during this time, but the US government refusal to speak up and apologise is the reason why we still talk about slavery. Now, it is no longer easy or relevant to apologise, but back then they could

Slavery meant a bigger economy, and with slaves existing you would never be the lowest of the barrel. Or maybe your ancestor was a slave owner, who knows? Then they would beniffited even more. Whites have it good, even now.
