@raven1397 isis lived according to the sharia. It had much to do with islam.

@raven1397 isis did not do anything that was unislamic. There biggest victims were infidels, enemies and traitors. They were extremely ruthless to all the men, women and children. Enslavement, torture, rape. All permitted in islamic law since you own the slave (and you are allowed to discipline them). Their ruthlessness could have been a result of constant warfare.
