Greed took the West eye off the ball they were looting the Middle East and North Africa with ease, while radicalization was taking place in Eastern Europe in preparation of taking control of Russia’s natural resources, Greed blinded the neocons. Putin saw what their plans were and stepped in and stopped them in Syria and Iran. Obviously China saw it also and they formed an alliance, don’t forget about India.
