President Xi have repeatedly stated that China has no intentions of taking Taiwan by force. Unless it is to stop foreign powers such as the US military from setting up shop in Taiwan or the Taiwan government announce publicly that they want independence. Simon, you are no doubt a very smart guy. But your knowledge of the real China and the Chinese people are only as good as China-Experts such as Peter Zeihan, Adrian Zens and Gordon Chan. None of whom have ever set foot in China.

@notusneo As a proud Chinese! Why wouldn't I believe in my President? Especially, what president Xi have done to bring China back to her rightful place at the top in such a short time. Of course, credits must be also given to the former Chinese Presidents for their contributions and hard work in laying down the solid foundations needed for success. We the Chinese people don't really give a "F" what you or anyone else think of China. Cos, none of you are Chinese, therefore, all of you are irrelevant. Name one other country that have achieved the same level of successes and achievements as China, in the same period of time. Just imagined how much worse off your lives will be, if the US had 1.4 billion people with the same group of mediocre government officials and 2nd rate presidents at the helm! Do you have any faith in your own government and is your country thriving just like China? I hope that you will have the chance to visit China or have the courage to take the trip at all. I promise that we don't bite.
