  1. It is because of corrupt traitors like Jimmy Lai and that old woman whom was some administrative puppet of HK under british rule. The British officials were paid off by these traitors back then to turn a blind eye while they bought up all the prime real estate illegally and became filthy rich. Now they control most of the land so they can dictate the prices. I hope the Chinese gov't will step in and confiscate their ill gottened lands and redistribute it fairly back to the low income citizens.
