  1. I noticed the insane data transmitted in the backgound when using mobile data and did not have background data disabled on my older phone. On the new one there is no option to actually disable background data generally. Only for each app individually. Obviously, google services and the system apps send a lot of data in the background.

  2.  @riche4you1975  I am in airplane mode right now, as I am typing this comment :D. I actually don't use this phone as a telephone. Most of the times I keep it turned off.

  4.  @vulcan6940  I use airplane mode to quickly disable the SIM card and only use the phone as a tablet.

  5. Getting .APK files will do as well. I personally do not use the smartphone as a phone. Many times I keep it turned off.
