@albback8176 This means that there is internal conflict, internal hate in the country of Libya.
It is the same for Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan.
And most likely, it is religiously motivated hate.
The war in Afghanistan was about getting rid of the taliban, a religious group that wants a theocracy.
The war in Iraq was about getting petrol. The USA benefited a lot.
That one made the USA look really bad. Well, what do you expect when the republicans are in leadership? The republicans = oil tycoons of the USA.
For example, in Syria, the leader is Alawi muslim. It is a more tolerant group towards christians. There are a lot of armenians in Syria and they prefer Bashar Asad.
The west wants him removed and the west claims that he is responsible for human rights abuses, which is true.
If he gets replaced, the armenians will likely get wiped out.
Who knows why the west is interested in Syria. Maybe it is bc Syria is against Israel.

@guymontag2948 “As far as breaking eggs goes that's, again, beside the point. I know it was bad. We're still responsible for stuff we break, even if we had good intentions, at the time. I think Obama described his regret as a failure to plan for the day after their intervention. You know, the gaping power vacuum.”
==The USA’s and allie’s goal was to get rid of the taliban and to place a democratic system in its place.
I assume they gave the government weapons, trained the army, etc.
It is odd that as soon as they left, the taliban took control so fast.
Maybe Afghanistan’s army doesn’t know how to fight or is unwilling.
Something similar happened in Iraq. They setup a government, trained the army, gave weapons. As soon as the USA left, various groups started warfare.
ISIS formed somehow and where was Iraq’s army? A lot of weapons were capture by ISIS. ISIS was beheading soldiers and civilians.
They took control of large parts of Iraq and began expanding into Syria.
My guess is that these muslim countries are fragmented. There are various tribes, various religious sects. Each sect wants to install their version of theocracy. They dislike each other and they dislike the USA. They view democracy as something foreign and non-muslim. So, if the USA sets up democracy, some portion does go voting while another large portion does not since their tribe leader says no to his followers.
Then, they use bombs to attack voting stations, police stations, army stations.
I think the size of each fragment is near equal to each other so their civil wars last a long time.
In the case of Afghanistan, the fragments are not the same size. The taliban is huge so they mostly won.
The USA failed in reducing their numbers over a span of 20 y.

@pineapplesareyummy6352 Well, since nearly half of united statians (or is it 40%?) believe Donald when he says the election was taken, and we saw what happened on Jan 06, 2022, I’m sure there is a portion that wants to use violence.
Have you seen what the televangelists are saying? There is a channel that discusses them.
They pump up the people with nonsense: Donald is Jesus, Donald was sent by god and we turned our backs on him, etc.
I imagine that half of the population follows one of those televangelists. I don’t really know since I am in Canada but from what I have seen, united statians are very religious, very afraid f the devil, they don’t like catholics. Some want to deport atheists.
The conditions are present for things to get violent in the USA.
This is why dictators and communists shut down churches, shut down certain leaders. Free speech leads to violence. The funny thing is, in order to remove free speech, they have to use violence.
