@jenniferlindsay-hiekel740 static boats, don't belong in the traffic lanes. If an accident occurs, due to the negligence of the truck/trailer. That superscedes any Infractions that may or may not occur after the negligence that led to the boat being detached in a traffic lane. No hitch pin? No safety chains? Who knows. But trailers don't just JUMP OFF. Unless they are improperly attached.

The middle of the traffic lane is THE LAST PLACE a static boat and trailer belong. They put EVERYONE at risk this am. And are lucky if the honda driver doesn't sue their pants off.

Because he has shitty tires, should be let off the hook? And before you even start. Even if a flat tire isn't a drivers own fault. It's STILL the drivers responsibility to secure his vehichle as safely as possible OUT of traffic lanes. If they sit there in traffic lanes," waiting for things to get better " and get hit. It's ABSOLUTLY their fault. Unless ones vehichle is COMPLETELY u drivable. We are expected to keep them secured and safe .

Um, NO, the driver of the truck FAILED to secure his load, which DIRECTLY led to the death of his friend, YES manslaughter charges will be filed, most likely against the truck driver for failing to secure the hitch of his trailer, and THEN for failing to drag the trailer via the chains, to a safe place to remit his. If the truck driver failed to both pin the hitch, AND failed to use chains,, then DEFF man slaughter charges are in order. If someone dies, because YOU failed to secure your load,, it’s YOUR fault, NOT the other drivers..

So tell us, why did the trailer REALLY pop off? No hitch pin? No keeper on the pin? Were the safety chains hooked up? Were the lights hooked up? Hazards on? I mean, lets be real here.. You ARE aware, that if your uncle failed to do any or all of those things, HE is at fault for ALL of this,, right?

Celtic Snow hit a pot hole. Sounds to me like driver error.. idgaf how long a pot hole is or isn't there. It's a drivers duty to avoid obstacles, and especially NOT block traffic lanes with improperly attached boat trailers. Why are all of you SO thirsty to blame the victim here? What if it was your child who hit that boat? How would you feel?

@joedidit8627 the most likely situation. Is either they did not pin the hitch. Or what ever pin they used. Didn't have a keeper on the end. One or the other. Additionally. Is it to be assumed they had No saftly chains either? Because if they didm. They could of limped the trailer off the ramp, before needing to get out and rehitch. Had to be one or the other or both. Trailers just don't pop off when you hit a bump. Unless the hitch is gammy, or was not secured properly.

LOOK, I'm not the dumb ass who didn't secure his trailer. THEY ARE. they should be lucky the honda driver wasn't more seriously injured. And trust me. The honda drivers insurance. Will take those fisherman through the cleaners. If you want to pull a boat, down the freeway. It's YOUR honus, to ensure the safty of those around you, including traffic behind you.

@jeffambrose5244 and trailers don't POP off the hitch, due to a flat tire. They POP off the hitch. When the driver fails to either USE a pin, Or secure the pin. A tire has no effect on a hitch. Additionly. There are safty chains. The drive round of used his truck. And drug the trailer to a safe spot. It might of damaged the fuck out of his bumper. But it's HIS responsibility to do so. His Insurace would of covered cost of new bumper. BUT if he wasn't using chains. Or the chains failed. That is still ALL the trailer truck drivers fault.

And HOW did this trailer end up there? Because the driver of the truck, did not secure it, when he was driving. And had the honda driver been killed too. The driver of the truck would be facing TWO counts of manslaughter, Instead of just one. We are not responsible for OTHER DRIVERS not securing their vehicles, and or not maintaining their vehicles. If I run a red light. What difwrnece does it make. If the car that might hit me. Was texting or not? At trial it wouldn't. SO the DA won't even care.
