@Snarfindorf but if police don’t get involve, Charlottesville will happens. I can tell you that these protestors are far from peaceful, and American government isn’t helping by fuelling the conflict. It is the mainland who helped us in 1997 when Soros tries to crash our currency, provided us with food and water when the British gave up on the city a year before hand-over. Ideology don’t put money in people’s pocket and food in their month. A privileged American or European will never understand the devastation your “democracy” brings.

@Louie Kitz unfortunately Hong Kong doesn’t have much of a choice, if it had a chance for independent, it’s in 1997. Now it’s too weak to be independent, and Taiwan surely don’t give a dime on us cuz they are too afraid of the mainlanders as well.

@mwtrolle I lived in Hong Kong between 2000 and 2013 for work, but my family lived for all their life. I once hated the Chinese government’s anti democratic policies. But the more I lean about economy, the more I realize it is Hong Kong who killed its own future by refusing to embracing new business and consolidate with mainland city. Like grandfather said, we were on top for too long, and forgot how we got there.

@Louie Kitz I’m firmly against one country two policy. Either join China, or declare independence (although unlikely). The confusing power distribution make passing meaningful legislation impossible.

Journalism is suppose to be unbiased, but vice never interview any pro-government voices. We never had help from the US, or the west. All I remember is the hostile take over in 1997 by Soros and finial crisis in 2008, all are which started by American. You judge us by our government, laugh at us for our action. This in a way is racism in the 21 century. We don’t act out like black and brown people, but that doesn’t means we forgive what you have done to us for the past century. I’ve never heard an apology for the exclusion act, or the hundred of Chinese died during construction for most west coast city. Please stop laughing at our wound, and let Hong Kong heal.
