For those who don’t understand, quantum supremacy is simply a term referring to a point where a quantum chip better than a classical chip. One of the problem quantum computing faced was the error rate. It was impossible to control the discrepancy between input and expected output. What google did was it came up with a process which is the best error correct so far, as for application, all they did was random sampling. So it is too early to say if it can perform well in other algorithms. And even if so, quantum computer, just like normal computer, is absolutely necessary in future development of science, especially in simulations for carbon emissions and modern medicine. Edit: the guy who came up with the name clearly didn’t realize what this sounds like

@V M brb random sampling is literally just picking random target of interest. You learn it first year stat... Edit: and the name here rly doesn’t imply anything, it is expected at one point quantum computing will take over, without doubt
