@Raven Trunite same, i think the hair symbolize a culture and it’s unique locality, which is harder to preserve in the modernizing world. My family is Mongolian, and I wouldn’t be ok with non-Mongolians putting on our traditional holiday dress to celebrate a holiday we don’t have

@Ben Herbivore freedom come with respect, I doubt you even know where Mongolia is or it’s major city. Idc if u wear our dress, but it’s not okay to wear them and not understand the meaning behind them

@Fillory wow you second comment is more insulting than ur first. Spending 10 minutes reading Wikipedia page on Mongolia won’t tell you anything about us. I’ve seen Halloween custom of Mongolian Khata being called a scarf it a scarf. I’m ok with other people wear them, but I think they should know the story behind it. Cornrows (braided hair) originated in Africa. it express culture, religion and tribe (I’m no so sure on that’s all), and I think if wish to wear the, you should at least spend some time reading about the horror and abuse they went through.

@Fillory I have no word for you and I’m not here to change your mind. I’ve said what I think is disrespectful, and like the video said, there are people don’t enjoy your action. I guess if u live in a community that no one cares it’s hard for you to imagine, but African American I know think the same.

@Fillory I did a bit more reading and find that the hairstyle is originated from Africa. I guess not everyone understand the hardship minority group goes through.
