  20.  @daveshongkongchinachannel  i'd like to share some thoughts on one particular point you mention here, which is about the restrictions put in place to fight against covid. my city opened up in the last month of 2022, and before the opening up my neighbors (there were hundreds of them) were arguing about if the lock down is sustainable in the chat group online. I didn't took side in this argument, however what I can tell you that my OWN grandma past away on 13rd of Dec, 2022, only 2 weeks after the opening up, due to the covid-19 infection. how do I feel about that? on one hand I understand many people were struggling to make their ends meet when everything was locked down, on the other hand I lost my own grandma because of opening up. I'd like to ask you this, how should I feel? if it was not for the strict lock down measures took place since 2020, most likely my grandmother won't even had the chance to meet her great grand child, my daughter who was born in April of 2021, and their destiny would be forever part away, never had the chance to meet each other in this life. in this regard, I thank the lock down for that. with that being said, I also witnessed first hand the pressures which lock down brought upon many people as well as the whole of Chinese society. now we look back on that, we understand now the lock down was not sustainable at all. BUT, my grandmother's face, and the photos I took of her with my then 1.5 years old daughter always appear in my mind when I think back on that period of time in my life. now I'm in peace. I don't blame nobody, cause I understand now THERE IS NO EASY WAY OUT for covid-19. one way or the other, somebody has got to pay the price. with all the lives perished in US during the initial phrase of pandemic, I saw nobody tried to hold any politician accountable, back then I also wondered how come the US citizens were so tolerable and obedient to their government, not complaining or just whining a little bit without getting furious when they lost their loved ones? Now I understand. after seeing the both sides of the story, now I understand I shouldn't judge on how Americans should react to their government's inaction. I hope my thoughts on this matter can help you a little bit to understand the mindset of Chinese people.
