  2. As a retired Navy veteran, I discourage people from enlisting as well. At least try to wait it out until this is out of office. Technically, I didn’t learn until around my 15th year that service members are not giving their lives to protect the country but to protect the military industry complex and oligarchs financial interests.

It is one thing to stay and fight within your chain of command but when the top are pushing down nonsense, is it worth risking your life for those people? It took me later in my career, working around 50% contractors, to see how the military industry operates. We are not giving our lives to protect this country but are dying for billion dollar contracts which enriches oligarchs to invade other countries that they profit from. Service member SGLI is $400,000 (or was when I in) but they are getting billion dollars contracts. That is how much your life is worth to them. They move on counting their dollars while your family is destroyed forever.
