I don’t expect nothing from my parents because they have nothing to give. I told them, if I didn’t learned how to take care of myself, that’s my fault not theirs. I did learn how to manage money and is doing much better financially than my parents did. Will I leave my estate to my only child? I’m leaning towards no. GI plan to give it to a trustworthy charity. I heard on Dave Ramsey, if you don’t have a relationship with your child/ren, why leave them your estate? That’s where I am. And considering years ago, when I had a relationship with my kid, she mentioned the different organizations she would give money to if she had a lot of money. I don’t support those organizations philosophy. So, no, I didn’t work hard all of my life for my money to be given to those organizations. Since I have a say while I’m alive, I’ll set up my money where I want it to go. Unlike my parents, I did teach my child financial responsibility and I hope she is using them. Unfortunately, I no longer believe in generational wealth especially when she said she didn’t want kids. I’m also spending my money on me by traveling the world.
